Hey, Mudbug Madness-loving peeps, first, some travel updates! Sewer main problems have forced the city to close the northbound lanes of the Clyde Fant Parkway from the Shreveport-Barksdale Highway to Stoner for at least one week. If this is the way you normally come to Mudbug, please consider taking Highway 1 (Youree Drive), the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, I-20 to Spring Street exit, Marshall, Line, or Fairfield into downtown, or come from the north via I-220 and North Market Street. There are still PLENTY of ways to get to your mudbugging fun!
We also have some pretty awesome changes to report about this year’s event. The party at Festival Plaza will start on Friday, May 24 at 11:30 a.m. with the always-popular Media Crawfish Eating competition and will then launch into live music and loads of food, beer and fun. The music line-up is stellar- just so you know the Friday main music event is Flow Tribe (that’s a great start to a wonderful weekend)!
There are some other changes, and we definitely approve! Friday lunch is back and bigger than ever. On Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., head to the plaza for $5 lunch specials!
From 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., there will be a huge Mudbug Happy Hour with $3 beverages. We think that’s worth taking the day off to enjoy!
After that, you’ll launch into two solid fun- and music-filled days. A few highlights include The Molly Ringwalds and Gerald Delafose and the Zydeco Gators on Saturday evening and night, and Chubby Carrier and Shinyribs on Sunday evening- with plenty of other entertainment in between. In addition, there is dance, puppet and magic shows, belly dancing and more. The entire Mudbug lineup is right here.
